What does 24K, 22K, 18K mean?
24K gold is 99.9% pure. 22K (916) is 91.6% pure — used in most jewelry. 18K (750) is 75% pure. The "K" refers to karats (parts per 24), while the number in brackets is the fineness per 1000.
